Distress. In a good way.

Something I think my pictures are a little too "happy."  Maybe that's not quite the right word, but it's probably not too far off.  I generally gravitate toward clean, polished images, and I can see how people might lump that in the happy genre.  I clearly haven't done much grunge.  So I thought I'd experiment with a little distress....

Here was one early attempt.

And another.  I'm partial to this one.

I would love to hear what you think.  Should I go stick to my old style or add a few more pics like these to my portfolio?

Gorgeous ladies in Malibu

Daphney Rose & Kymberly Jane

I just finished a wonderful shoot with Daphney Rose and Kymberly Jane in Malibu today.  The weather was perfect, almost too warm even, but who's complaining?  I've tried to shoot at this location a couple of times over the past months, but it just hasn't worked out.  Until now.

Those of you who follow my work know I'm already a big fan of Kym, but it was great to add a new model to the mix today.  Here's the first pic - some may say it's a bit tame but I just love how cute the girls look here.  I'll post a few more pics in the coming days.  In the meantime, enjoy!

Undressing Tina

As the pics will show you, Tina is alluring with her clothes on, off, or some place in between.

At home with Danielle.

Danielle was kind enough to let me take some pics of her at home.  :)  She's a real sport and even after a number of different set ups, I feel like we could have shot for days.

just one more button, you're almost there.....

I think I'm in love.

Lily gave me a ton of amazing shots to work with last week, and every one just rivets me.  I could just stare at her forever.  I'll get some more posted soon, but here are just a few for your viewing pleasure.

Jealous of the bedpost

I've said it before, and I'll say it again.  I'm damn jealous of that bedpost.

Time to kill in Austin

I found myself in Austin for a few days, eager to shoot.  Something about this town always spurs this strange mix of creativity and lounging in me.  Shooting with Scarlet really helped bring that out.  Her dreamy eyes and relaxed attitude made the mood and brought forth such sultry looks.

Only one girl, and I wasn't disappointed

When I shot Envy, we had planned on shooting a few girl-girl sets.  I've mostly shot solos, so I was excited to try something new and see what would happen.  Then, the other model (who shall remain nameless) was a no show, but any disappointment I might have felt soon vanished as Envy began to work the camera.  So many of the pics long for a little more revealed, but Envy played it just right and kept my eyes always wanting just a little more.

A couple of hours with Thao

Super at ease.  Creative.  Easy to work with.  Undeniably beautiful.  I miss those couple of hours with Thao.

Lux was a such a pro

There are times when you shoot with someone, and you know they know what they're doing.  This was one of them.  I imagine she wouldn't say the same about me.

Thanks, Lux.  You made my job easy.

The first time I met Kymberly Jane

Kymberly Jane popped into my life on a day when I'd already had two no-shows.  Frustrated, I was close to canceling on her and hanging up my camera.  But then she got here, and within moments was giving me gorgeous picture after picture.  There aren't many women who can lie before you naked, and yet your eyes are still drawn toward hers.

Thanks for showing up, Kym!

A brief but memorable trip to Milwaukee

It's amazing what you can find in unexpected places.  On a recent trip to Milwaukee, I was just hoping to try out a new lens, get some practice shots in... but wow!  This shoot turned out some of my favorite pics, and I can't wait to get back to this location.  It's an old mattress factory converted into a hotel, and the brick walls and high ceilings give everything such character.

Josie is really photogenic and I know I'll be using these pics in my portfolio for a long time.  Everything just came together - the beautiful old hotel, the innocent yet incredibly sexy Josie, and the soft afternoon light.

Enjoy a few samples from the day.
